Where is GEOS Melbourne located?

How many hours do students study per week? Full time students students study 25 hours per week. This consists of 20 hours in class, and 5 hours of supervised self access.
Part time students study 15 hours per week. This consists of 10 hours in class, and 5 hours of supervised self access.
How many "Supervised Self Access" sessions do students have per day? Students have one self access session per day, either in the morning OR the afternoon. These sessions aim to personalise a student's program, allowing them to work on preferred areas of study. A teacher is available during this time to answer questions, or find exercises for students to complete.
In your sample timetable you mention "Supervised Self Access". What does this mean? Supervised Self Access gives the student the chance to personalise his/her curriculum. During this time the student works on a topic of their choice. This can include computer based training, grammar, reading, speaking, pronunciation etc. The student can choose his/her own activity or ask the teacher to set them a task.
What is the earliest time a student can start? The earliest self access time is 8am.
What is the latest time a student can finish? The latest self access finish time is 5.15pm.
Can students choose their timetable? No. Their timetable is dependant upon their skill level.
When does GEOS Melbourne have holidays? GEOS Melbourne is open all year, with the exception of public holidays. These public holidays are listed below:

How long would you recommend a student to study? That depends on their goals and their current level. If a student is currently Intermediate level and wants to get into an Australian University (IELTS 5.5 — Upper Intermediate) we would recommend 20 weeks. That is 10 weeks for every level (10 weeks at Intermediate and 10 weeks at Upper Intermediate).
When can my student begin study? General English students can start on any Monday and study for any duration.
Cambridge students must sit for an intake test, then once accepted begin on specific dates only.
All EFS students must sit for an intake test, then once accepted begin on specific dates only. Minimum booking is 5 weeks, but it is recommended students study on a 10 weekly basis.
Business English students must sit for an intake test, then once accepted begin on specific dates only. Minimum booking is 5 weeks, maximum 10 weeks at each level.
All Intensive IELTS Exam Preparation students must sti for an intake test, then once accepted begin on specific dates only. 5 week course.
What is the minimum enrolment? One week.
What is the maximum enrolment? There is no maximum enrolment - students can study as long as they like.
How many students in one class? The average number of students in one class is 15.
What is the minimum student age? The minimum age is 18, the only exception being study tour groups who form their own class.
How many classes do you have? We have around 30 - 36 classes.
What is your nationality mix? GEOS is an international organisation and has students from many countries. We currently have over 28 nationalities at the college.
Do GEOS student cards allow students to claim concession prices? Yes and no. It does allow discounts on movies and at entertainment venues. However, it does not allow discounts on public transport.
